Your friend, Donte, was right. In an obscenely paradoxical twist, Obama is responsible for the overt racism in society today--not the racism, its overtness. When folks like Nikki Haley say Obama is responsible for America's racial polarization, it is a slick way of saying that he didn't "know his place" and agree to stay there. He had the audacity to be a Black man with the confidence of a white man. He broke the mold and broke free. I believe that Americans feel perversely compelled to attack people who don't hate themselves, and will employ any of the timeworn social constructs that support social dominance hierarchy to bust people down to "where they belong." Conservatives will never get over Obama.
