Thanks for this. I am always encouraged when an Africa-born or non-American Afrodescended person recognizes and acknowledges the systemwide racism we all experience daily. There was a time when non-American Black folks disputed the lived experiences of American-born Afrodescendants with the same excuses you got from your white friends. Collective resistance is crucial if we are ever to succeed in halting the impact of racism on our everyday lives.
