My great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Jones Parrish, chronicled the Tulsa Race Massacre in the first written and published book about the catastrophe. Her work definitively points to racialized hatred and envy against the citizens of Black Wall Street as the underlying cause of the massacre. Efforts to portray the Tulsa events as anything other than a racially motivated hate crime seeks to erase the gravity and impact of America's unhealed, unredeemed original sin in order to erase white guilt. It's a shameless, immature, and abusive attempt to escape moral accountability for wrongdoing. We expect children to have more moral courage. Check out TulsaBook.com for more about Mary Parrish.
